The Random: IKEA Shoe Closet

I. Need. This.

I'm just afraid that it will not be enough for my shoes now... and my future shoes waiting for their new home.

The Recipe: Wonton Noodle Soup

A great way to warm up during winter is through soup.  In our house, we love Chinese egg noodles with wontons.  As complicated as this may look to some, this is a really easy dish to make.  One of my dearest friend gave me a Thai cookbook below and it is has the recipe for the dish.  Of course, the egg noodle is my little rendition.

NOTE:
1. Boil the wontons BEFORE you put them in the soup.  Why? Pre-cooking AND to rid them off the flour they used to keep the wonton skins from drying and cracking.
2. If adding egg noodles, cook them separately from the soup too.  If you cook it in the soup, you'll make the soup really thick and slimy.  No bueno.

The Inspiration: Denim + Denim + Studded Shorts

These studded shorts are so cool.  Really want one and I want them now! Singer22.com has a bunch of them but they're pretty pricey! Nasty Gal has some great cut off shorts too but no studs.  What a girl to do?!?!?

When you can't find the one you like and when you do it is about $200+, time to DIY.  It's actually quite easy to make and you can do all of this for less than $50... well, it depends on how much your denim shorts cost.  My friend and I are heading to the thrift store to look for old Levi's and will begin making these shorts next weekend.

Will update you once the product is complete.  Wish us luck!

The Look: Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

Friday night.  Time to whine down the week with great company and good drinks.  After 40+ hours of office politics, pencil skirts and dressed shirts it was time to put on something fun.

Kicking off pants #1 from my H&M purchases, started the weekend look with the pants dubbed "Beetlejuice."  Thank you, W + K guy I met at Rotture last night for showing me the picture of Michael Keaton as well.  Like I didn't get the first hint!  Lol.

The T-shirt was recommended by my consulting photographer / stylist @Panda.  Yes, it was a hit.  Got me lots of free drinks at the bar.  Who doesn't like Star Wars anyway? And The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite too!  Most common question was, "Is it vintage?" Um... yeah, I know I'm a Portlander and all but why buy a $35 used T-shirt when I can get a new one for $10.

 Today's Look:
