The Works of Philip Treacy

I just love his hats. The architectural designs of his work just can't be beat. Who knew that hats can be so three dimensional?
Can you imagine the amount of time is put into each of these amazing pieces of art? Yes, they are pricey but my goodness a lot of work was put into each one. From the designing to the modeling and then the production.
Finally! The world now knows the dress in which the Duchess of Cambridge chose to wear:
Designed by Sara Burton of Alexander McQueen. The dress epitomizes the British Tradition in workmanship and the talent of the people.
She worked closed with Sarah Burton in the design ensuring to keep the royal tradition but with the touch of modernity in the ways of McQueen's fashion house. The lace applique of the bodice and skirt were hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework. While the wedding shoes were also handmade by Alexander McQueen's team from ivory duchesse satin with lace hand-embroided by the Royal School of Needelwork. Lovely!

Like his elegant, timeless and iconic apparel designs, Ralph Lauren had always seen cars as pieces of art. Vanity Fair's Todd Eberle had a chance to enter the inner sanctum of Ralph Lauren's "museum like" garage and photographed some of his beloved car collections.
This week 17 of his rare and exceptional cars will be on displayed at the Louvre's Musée des Arts Décoratifs for the show entitled: L'Art de l'Automobile.
The show opening car is the 1938 Bugatti Atlantic, a masterpiece that is estimated in the upwards of $32 million. You'll have to scroll through the post to see it!

Where to begin... The name Pharrell is synonymous to the world of Hip Hop, Pop Culture, Pop Art and in recent years fashion.
What makes Pharrell, Pharrell? Along with Hugo and Chad, the trio is a crazy talented music producer with an uncanny ability to mix beats and melodies that will get your rump shaking. His music style is that of hip hop + classic rock, something he listened to growing up. Double Platinum at 17, they went on to make hits after hits for some of the industry's biggest names: Jay-Z, Beenie Man, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Gwin Stefani, Usher, and on and on.
Music created Pharrell's career. But like all stories of creation, evolution plays its role. Pharrell has evolved into many things fantastic and his achievements as an artist has made his mark on Pop Culture and the history of fashion.
The Attention
Hugo and Chad had written many beats in the 90's but their attention getter with its "Neptunes sound" came from N.O.R.E's "Superthug" in 1998.
DLT90's "Yo N-E-P-T-U-N-E-S / the way they lace a beat's like, one of the best"

Hot in Herre...
Before she shaved off her hair, he helped Britney gain her first worldwide No. 1. Can't get better than being No. 1
Then Pharrelle and Nelle realized that "It's Getting Hot in Herre"...

Japan he went, they met and then came BBCIce Cream. Pharrell and Nigo hit it off from the start. Both had very similar interests. Nigo owned BAPE in Japan and Pharrell likes what he did. After some interchange, a joint venture started the BBC/Ice Cream street wear in the U.S. It was a rough start at first but the rest is now history.
Below is BBC 2010 S/S collection... a little behind the time? Yes, but look how timeless it is.
The idea of having limited edition items is just marketing ingenuity... genius. BBC/Ice Cream items are highly in demand and is the pinnacle of street wear; it is royalty. Would I buy these? Oh heck yeah!
A historical collaboration, Pharrell together with Nigo and Marc Jacobs created 8 designs for Louis Vuitton's first sunglasses collection in 2005: The Millionaire sunglasses. Where's my winning lotto ticket?????
Blason, the symbol of dynasty and French Heraldry. Often synonymous with a coat of arms and conveys aristocratic heritage that spans from one generation to another.
In 2008, his continued collaboration with Louis Vuitton migrated into the house's fashion jewelry line. Pharrell worked with Camille Miceli (Marc Jacob's personal public relations and jewelry consultant to LV) to create an edgy collection that is inspired by the music universe.
No doubt, Pharrell's work with Louis Vuitton has helped emblazoned the fashion house history. But he didn't stop there. Chairs anyone?
“I had often wondered what it’s like to truly be in love, not lust for once..So I decided not to ask what it was like in someone else’s shoes or what it was like to sit in their seat.." -Pharrell Williams
His work of art continued in 2008 with another collaboration with Domeau & Pérès. The chair and table was in his design for the prestigious Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie show held in Paris.
With all his successes, Pharrell has not forgotten the roots that helped gave him his start. His old home ground in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is a big focus for his philanthropy. He works with local officials to help create a youth resource center that will run academic enrichment programs. With his mom's help, they created From One Hand to Another, Inc. Currently, his charity organization and NASA has joined hands to encourage the youths of Virginia Beach to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Oh! and just for kicks... ha ha, that was ironic "kicks"
